BRE is an independent and impartial, research-based testing, certification and training organisation, offering expertise in every aspect of the built environment and associated industries. BRE provides expert, impartial research, knowledge and advice for the built environment sector and beyond. BRE helps government, industry and business to meet the challenges of our built environment and to create better, safer and more sustainable products, buildings, communities and businesses - and it supports the innovation needed to achieve this.

Rothamsted Research is the longest running agricultural research station in the world, providing cutting-edge science and innovation for nearly 170 years. Rothamsted’s mission is to deliver the knowledge and new practices to increase crop productivity and quality and to develop environmentally sustainable solutions for food and energy production. Rothamsted integrates biotechnology with other areas of science such as agronomy and agro-ecology so both existing and new knowledge can be implemented through agricultural practice.

The University of Hertfordshire is the UK's leading business-facing University and an exemplar in the sector. The University of Hertfordshire is one of the region's largest employers with over 2,700 staff. With a student community of over 24,500 including more than 2,000 international students from over eighty five different countries, the University has a global network of over 165,000 alumni.

St Albans City & District Council is the local authority for the District which covers St Albans, Harpenden and other settlements such as London Colney, Wheathampstead, Redbourn and Bricket Wood. We provide residents and visitors with essential and wide ranging services including refuse and recycling, parks and leisure facilities, street cleaning, markets, tackling crime and nuisance, elections, planning and housing. We also provide leadership and co-ordination of the work of partners from the public, private and voluntary sectors.

The authority is run by a Council of 58 elected councillors, representing 20 electoral wards. The elected councillors make the decisions for the Council and the operational management of the services and facilities for the community are implemented by the staff, or officers, employed by the Council.

We are a large further education college in Hertfordshire with campuses in Welwyn Garden City and St. Albans, and a further training provision in Borehamwood.

Achieving an overall 'Good' in our Ofsted inspection, we are proud to successfully provide for 10,000 students and look forward to welcoming you.

We offer around 1,500 full and part-time courses to nearly 10,000 students, who come from Hertfordshire and further afield. Our courses range from vocational courses with strong links to employers through to elite sports, the arts and a wide variety of A Levels.

We are also nationally recognised for our outstanding provision for students with mild and severe learning difficulties.

Here you will be able to choose from a wide range of courses, both part-time and full-time, including Arts, Media, Publishing, Health, Public Services, Construction, Horticulture, Equine, Beauty, Music and Forensic Science, to name a few.

We also run our own work-based learning programmes, with close links to local employers, and offer variety of Apprenticeships opportunities across a number of frameworks.
