The Green Apple Awards
Innovation Vouchers

Both the University of Hertfordshire and BRE offer Innovation Vouchers to companies and individuals. Each has their own eligibility criteria and area of focus;

The UH will match business funds with expertise and facilities to a maximum of £6000. The innovation voucher scheme through the University aims to support business growth and can be used to develop presentations and business models to pitch new concepts and products. For instance, it can be directed into the build and test prototype products and services, analysis of potential markets and customers using advanced statistical mapping techniques, going global with assistance in tackling new markets, and delivering training to improve employee skills.

Although BRE businesses can access up to £5000 in industry expertise to innovate, develop and grow business, the company must be a UK based SME in the built environment sector. The vouchers can be used to develop a new product to help the built environment or gain insight into IP management amongst others. Guidance and support is free of charge via the scheme and through specialists and experts from BRE, universities and technical colleges, technical consultancies, design professionals and IP advisers.
